Louie Bacomo, Regional Director-JRS Asia Pacific, during the online forum.

Bangkok, 10 July 2020 – Louie Bacomo, Regional Director – JRS Asia Pacific, shared his experiences and insights on new ideas for online and global student outreach and service programs to over 250 administrators and formation staff of Jesuit education and social institutes in a forum “Expanding Compassion, Friday Forum on Faith & Values Formation” sponsored by JCAP Education/Ateneo SALT Institute.

This forum featured three resource persons who discussed new possibilities for student outreach and service programs. Each person discussed a pressing issue and a wicked problem – refugees, environment, and Philippine public education – and the possibilities of engaging and educating our students on them. These three concerns represent three of the Jesuit Universal Apostolic Preferences – namely, Walking with the Marginalized by Louie Bacomo, Regional Director, Jesuit Refugee Service – Asia Pacific, Caring for the Environment by Sylvia Miclat, Director, Institute of Environmental Science for Social Progress, Accompanying the Youth by Solvie Nubla-Lee, Director, Pathways for Education
