JRS takes a long-term perspective in reflecting on our mission. Our response has been largely humanitarian, yet the growing severity and frequency of climate-induced disasters highlight the limitations of emergency responses in addressing the long-term impacts of displacement. Climate change not only intensifies displacement but also contributes to protracted crises, requiring a more holistic approach that integrates immediate relief and sustainable programs.
