JRS Asia Pacific’s documentary In Our Island (Sa Among Isla) will be screened at the upcoming Changing Climate Changing Lives (CCCL) Film Festival, a platform that uses film and storytelling to foster dialogue on climate change and its impacts on communities around the world.

Produced by JRS Asia Pacific, In Our Island (Sa Among Isla) is a 17-minute documentary that shares the vision, views, and values of climate-vulnerable island communities in the central Philippines as they make choices and face the future. The film explores questions surrounding climate change, displacement, and the reasons why vulnerable communities may decide to stay or move in response to environmental pressures.

The documentary was produced as part of the Research and Advocacy for Climate Policy and Action (RACPA) project, in collaboration with partners including the Institute of Environmental Science for Social Change (ESSC) in the Philippines.

The screening will take place as part of the CCCL Film Festival, which brings together films and stories that explore the realities of climate change and the responses of affected communities. Through this platform, audiences have the opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives on resilience, adaptation, and environmental justice.

As climate change continues to shape lives and livelihoods across the Asia-Pacific region, In Our Island (Sa Among Isla) offers an opportunity to hear directly from island communities confronting these challenges and navigating an uncertain future.

We invite partners, supporters, and festival attendees to join the screening and engage with the stories and experiences shared in the film.
