Footprints of Courage: The Journey of JRS Cambodia
Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Cambodia has walked alongside displaced and marginalized communities for decades. A new edition of Diakonia, Footprints of Courage, traces this journey from the early response to survivors of landmines to today’s programs accompanying refugees, returnees, and people without legal status. The publication highlights stories of resilience, the legacy of Sister Denise Coghlan, and JRS’s continuing mission to promote hope through education, vocational training, documentation support, and community accompaniment.
From vocational centres that helped survivors regain independence to initiatives ensuring children without documentation can access education, Footprints of Courage shows how accompaniment, service, and advocacy restore dignity and strengthen communities. It is an inspiring resource for partners, supporters, and all who believe in protecting the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced people.
