Education

JRS Thailand has been working for nearly three decades to support refugees and displaced communities through education and care. Their programs in Mae Hong Son Province and urban areas provide essential learning opportunities and foster mental well-being for both children and adults.

JRS Thailand’s program in Mae Hong Son Province focuses on providing Basic Education and Pastoral Care to children and adults in two temporary shelters: Baan Mai Nai Soi and Baan Mae Surin. For nearly 30 years, JRS has collaborated with the Karenni Education Department (KnED) to ensure that children in these shelters receive quality education. In addition, JRS runs the Urban Education Project (UEP), which focuses on informal and vocational training for adult students in urban areas. This initiative aims to support individuals who lack access to such opportunities and provides a productive space for socialization, promoting mental health and well-being. The UEP is implemented with the support of JRS Singapore and Jesuit Worldwide Learning.
